This anthology of 18 contemporary German short stories is primarily intended for intermediate courses. Stories are presented with text on the right page, and vocabulary glosses on the left, with each gloss across from its respective word or phrase. Exercises progress from simple to more challenging. Exercises diminish in frequency and scope, as students become fluent. Audiocassettes, recorded by native speakers, reproduce most exercises.
