Braswell, Michael C. : East Tennesee State University

Michael C. Braswell, Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at East Tennessee State University. Braswell received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition to his academic position, Braswell has also served as a correctional psychologist, a marital/family therapist and a consultant to a variety of law enforcement and corrections organizations. Braswell�s writing and research has focused on ethics, correctional treatment and peacemaking. His books include: American Criminal Justice: An Introduction (by Bartollas and Braswell), Correctional Counseling and Rehabilitation (by Van Voorhis, Braswell and Lester), Inner Corrections: Finding Peace and Peacemaking (by Lozoff and Braswell) and Human Relations in Corrections (by Braswell, Miller and Fletcher).

McCarthy, Belinda R. : University of Central Florida

Belinda R. McCarthy, Professor of Criminal Justice and Dean of the College of Health and Public Affairs at the University of Central Florida. McCarthy received her Ph.D. from the School of Criminal Justice at the State University of New York at Albany. Her research and writing have focused on such topics as prison furloughs, older offenders and AIDS education for juvenile offenders. McCarthy is the editor or author of several books, author or co-author of numerous scholarly articles and book chapters, and a frequent presenter at various professional conferences. Her books include: Intermediate Punishments: Intensive Supervision, Home Confinement and Electronic Surveillance; Older Offenders: Perspectives in Criminology and Criminal Justice; and Easy Time: Female Inmates on Temporary Release.

McCarthy, Bernard J. : University of Central Florida

Bernard J. McCarthy, Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies at the University of Central Florida. McCarthy received his Ph.D. from the School of Criminology, Florida State University. His teaching areas include ethics, community corrections, criminal justice policy analysis and terrorism. His present research includes an assessment of the impact of jail programs on offender behavior and an evaluation of Drug Courts in Central Florida.
